oSomething.org’s annual list ranks the 20 most charity-friendly stars.

Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and George Clooney better have received something nice from Santa this year, because they certainly weren’t on his naughty list. Those three toplined DoSomething.org‘s Top 20 Celebs Gone Good, the organization’s annual roundup of the most charity-friendly stars in the business.

This is Gaga’s second year in a row at the #1 spot. In 2011 she dedicated much of her time to putting an end to bullying and even started a new charitable organization called Born This Way. The “Marry the Night” singer did plenty more to help out those less fortunate in 2011, including auctioning off a nude sketch for charity and performing at the Bill Clinton Foundation fundraiser.

However, this was really Bieber’s year to shine. He rocketed up DoSomething.org’s list from #10 last year to #2 this year. It helps that Bieber donated some of his profits from his Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe, and his self-named perfume to various charitable organizations. Bieber also kept up his work with Pencils of Promise, a group that has built 41 schools in Laos, Nicaragua and Guatemala and was founded by his manager’s brother.

Rounding out the top five were Will and Jada Pinkett Smith and Leonardo DiCaprio. This was a year for celeb power couples, with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie clocking at #8, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore at #12 and newlyweds Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert at #14.

Other notable standouts this year were Demi Lovato at #10, Lea Michele making her charitable debut at #16, Daniel Radcliffe at #17, Miley Cyrus at #18 and Taylor Swift rounding out the list at #20.

ieber’s holiday special airs December 22 and will raise money for his Believe charity drive.

Justin Bieber has helped light the tree in New York’s Rockefeller Plaza and sang Christmas carols with the president. Now, MTV News has confirmed that the pop star will celebrate the season once more with his very own special, “Justin Bieber: Home for the Holidays.”

Bieber will tape the fundraising special at a secret Toronto location before it airs December 22 on MuchMusic and CTV. In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Bieber said, “The holidays are a very special time of the year for me and I’m looking forward to coming home and ringing them in with my friends and family.”

Funds raised at the show will benefit Bieber’s Believe charity. Portions of the proceeds raised by his holiday album, Under the Mistletoe, also went to the nonprofit. Believe raises money for organizations like the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Pencils of Promise, Musicians on Call, Project Medishare for Haiti, City of Hope, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the Grammy Foundation.

“I am launching the Believe Charity Drive because I know firsthand that if you believe in your dreams, everything is possible,” Bieber said in a statement about the initiative. “The Believe Charity Drive directly benefits charities that are making a difference in the world. You can … donate as little as one dollar, or even donate your time, because everything will make a difference. Please join me in our quest to raise millions of dollars by the release of my new 2012 album, Believe. I know that with your help, we can make a change.”

On Monday (December 12), in addition to announcing the holiday special, Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun also tweeted about the overwhelming success Under the Mistletoe has had since its November debut.

“@JustinBieber’s christmas album ‘Under The Mistletoe’ is the biggest selling International Christmas album for UMG in a decade!!” he tweeted. “That makes it the biggest selling holiday album on Universal in the last decade moving ahead of Andrea Bocelli. very proud and at this rate by Christmas @justinbieber’s ‘Under The Mistletoe’ will be the biggest 4th qtr album release of the entire UMG-EMI system!”

Bieber recorded several classic tunes for the album, as well as original songs, including lead single “Mistletoe.” He worked with artists like Mariah Carey, Usher, the Band Perry, Busta Rhymes and Boyz II Men on the project. “Thank u to everyone supporting this incredible album,” Braun added. “All the stats are amazing but what Im most proud of is the music. REALLY GREAT MUSIC.”

n Wednesday night (November 30), the 2012 Grammy Nominations Concert took place in Los Angeles. Held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE, the LL Cool J hosted ceremony saw Kanye West top the pack with seven chances at Grammy glory while British singer Adele scored six nominations in categories including Song of the Year, Record of the Year and the grand prize of Album of the Year for her heralded disc “21″.

Other top nominees lining the 78 categories going into the 2012 Grammy awards include Lady Gaga, Foo Fighters, Bon Iver, Mumford & Sons, Bruno Mars and Katy Perry.

Little Monsters saw how Lady Gaga celebrates Thanksgiving during her lavish TV special, and now we know where Mother Monster will spend the holiday season.

“Well I’ll be in Japan right up until Christmas day,” Gaga told MTV News earlier this month. “So I’ll be eating with all my Japanese Little Monsters. I like shabu shabu [a form of Japanese hot pot].”

On Tuesday (December 20), the singer tweeted about her trip there. “Just arrived in Tokyo!” she wrote, including a photo of herself sitting in her hotel room. “So happy to see my Kawaii Monsters! #SleepyGaga bedtime. I’m a professional napper today.”

She kicked off the gifting season with her holiday-themed pop-up store and window display, Gaga’s Workshop, at Barneys New York. She and stylist Nicola Formichetti gave fans an idea of what the pop star would want from Santa with Mother Monster-inspired products like head-shaped candles, leather jackets, her favorite books and chocolates shaped like shoes.

The singer is expected to land Stateside on December 31, just in time for the 40th annual “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.”. She’s one of the many acts lined up for the event, including Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, LMFAO and Florence and the Machine. The show will be anchored by “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest, with help from Fergie and Jenny McCarthy.

The busy holiday season caps off an even busier year for Lady Gaga, who happened to be MTV News’ Top Newsmaker of 2011. She tirelessly released singles, videos, personas, a chart-topping album (Born This Way) and scooped up awards at seemingly every show from the Grammys to the VMAs. She was also our #5 Best Artist of 2011, and her disco empowerment track, “Born This Way,” boasted the #5 spot on the Best Songs of 2011 list as well.
